Telecom market ‘is two steps from being truly competitive’

Guernsey now has three providers – Sure, Wave and Airtel-Vodafone.
Airtel-Vodafone this week welcomed the suggestion by the Office of Utility Regulation of easing some of its controls – such as reporting requirements – on mobile operators.

‘One, there needs to be number portability for fixed-line services, and two, local loop unbundling needs to be introduced as a priority,’ said a spokesman.
