James stars in SA

James Wilkes-GreenGUERNSEY’S James Wilkes-Green produced a match-winning performance for Sussex Emerging Players in their opening match of their South African tour.

Playing against Bishops School in Cape Town, the county cricket squad looked set for defeat as their hosts reached 103 for one chasing 203 in 50 overs before the young Sarnian leg-spinner turned the game on its head with a spell of five for 28. Bishops were eventually all out for 178.

Wilkes-Green (pictured) has also featured in the two other matches played so far.

Under the magnificent Table Mountain at the Wally Wilson Oval, Newlands, Sussex failed to set a defendable total and were bowled out for 124 by Western Province.
