Yabsley back to boost HR Focus to first win

BEING able to call upon Martin Yabsley ensured that HR Focus’s season got off to a winning start in Division One of the Legis Basketball Leagues.

The 6ft 10in. star (pictured) has played around the globe semi-professionally throughout his career and is back in the island for a period of time, bolstering Focus’s ranks in the process.

And a last-quarter flourish meant they cruised past Prime Property Panthers 76-59 in an entertaining match, Yabsley top-scoring for Focus with 21 points.

But it was not all plain sailing as the Panthers, aided by Jason Hooper’s excellent haul of 29, restricted the score to 54-50 going into the final quarter, including leading the match 21-20 after the first 10 minutes.
