Airtel offers innovative ‘change your ring-tone’ service to users

CONTINUING to innovate will be central to Airtel Vodafone’s plans for 2011, according to vice president Ian Campbell.
Speaking at the company’s latest six-monthly briefing update, Mr Campbell (pictured) said that as the newest entrant into the Guernsey mobile phone network just under three years ago, the company could not afford to stand still.
This, he said, was illustrated by the recent launch of the Hello Tunes service, which allows Airtel Vodafone users in Guernsey to select a song to replace the typical ‘ring-ring’ tone that people hear when they try to call their phone.
The technology is huge in Asia, with 93% of mobile phone users using it, while it is also growing rapidly in many parts of Europe and the US.
