Chief minister steps into loos closure row
Monday 20th December 2010, 11:30AM GMT.
A CONTROVERSIAL decision to close the Castle Emplacement toilets will be reviewed today following intervention by the chief minister.
Deputy Lyndon Trott (pictured) said he had asked for the matter to be considered by the Policy Council when it meets this afternoon.
‘It may be that a compromise is possible between Treasury and Resources, and Public Services,’ he said.
A statement on the closure that Treasury and Resources was due to put out on Friday was withdrawn without explanation.

The two faces of Guernsey.
Face 1. The world beating Financial centre, as sold by Trotty on his many travels
Face 2. The 3rd World Island which cannot afford a piddling sum to keep its public loos open. Pun intended.
But will Trotty ride to the rescue? The suspense is as bad as waiting for the loo to open.
How did it ever descend to this?
