PARISH officials remain sceptical that the runway project will be a success.
But douzaines have backed the Public Services Department’s proposals to improve a St Peter’s junction, if the closure of La Mare Road is approved.
St Saviour’s junior constable Fergus Dunlop said his douzaine had accepted the trade-off for closing the road, which runs between the two parishes to the west of the airport boundary.
‘All the douzaine was asked to approve was the improved junction layout,’ he said. ‘The general opinion was that it was acceptable, but there was no strong view either way.’

If it ain’t broken don’t fix it. The current junction works fine.

Looks like there’s room to install a roundabout at this junction. That might help slow down the traffic approaching St Peter’s Village from the Airport direction

Mr G
Apart from when the hedges get overgrown and you can’t see a thing coming from Plaisance Road when exiting the side road. If only it were always like the photograph in the Press !

The junction will need to be improved if the lane/lanes that run between the two roads are removed.I feel some more compulsory purchasing may be on the way!!
