AFTER sleeping on the floor at Gatwick, some islanders were more than happy finally to reach Guernsey yesterday.
More snowfall meant the UK airport had to shut again on Monday evening, leaving hundreds stranded with nowhere to go.
Trevor Whitaker, 33, said his journey home at been a nightmare.
‘We were supposed to fly to Amsterdam on Friday but our flight was cancelled – so we spent long hours on the floor in Gatwick.’
