GUERNSEY’S chief minister scored twice as the annual football match between States members and the media ended in a draw for the first time yesterday.

The media have a 4-2 advantage over their rivals in a fixture that was first played in 2004.

Deputy Leon Gallienne, who organised the States team which also comprised civil servants, said he pleased with the performance of his squad.

‘We were expecting a difficult game today,’ he said.

‘We knew the media were confident because of a friendly we played against them earlier in the year, but our game plan of mixing older players with youngsters worked very well and I think it was a fair result.’

    What can one say:
Lets hope his statements to the States Assembly in 2011 are as acurate as his goal scoring capabilities.
They have certainly lacked accuracy during 2010.
