Seven nominated for top GSC award

A MAGNIFICENT seven have been nominated as the 2010 outstanding performer of the year.
A wide array of sports have been recognised in those put forward for the Guernsey Sports Commission Trophy – the top prize on offer at the Annual Sports Achievement Awards 2010 sponsored by Law at Work to be held next month.
Top of the list is the current holder, tennis star Heather Watson (pictured), who has claimed two senior titles this year and seen her world ranking jump from 588 at the end of 2009 to a current place of 176.
Another former winner, bowler Alison Merrien, also features along with familiar island names who continue to progress on the world stage such as athlete Lee Merrien and table tennis starlet Alice Loveridge.
