SYLVANS go into the new year with a big lead and a 100% record in the GFA Veterans League.

The westerners, runners-up in the league last season, have won all 10 matches to give them an 11-point lead over St Martin’s, although the black-and-whites have two games in hand.

The destination of the title may rest on their forthcoming new year fixtures with Saints and two games against fourth-placed North.

Sylvans have not had things all their own way, though.
