McLaughlin top of the pile

HE HAS been on the radar for several years now, but James McLaughlin became a star in 2010.
Although his talent was never in doubt, the way the 20-year-old shone in a strong Guernsey cycling team at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi was extraordinary.
Another of Guernsey’s Commonwealth Games competitors tops our list of international achievers, but it was not for his performance in Delhi.
In his first season tackling the marathon, Lee Merrien (pictured) exceeded expectations in sensational style.
