FOR the fourth year running, Martyn Desperques has ended Adam Shorto’s hopes of a first Individual Snooker League title – the difference this time being that it wasn’t in the final.

Shorto’s surprise loss to Seb Priaulx in the last group match meant the pair would do battle in the semi-final, and they produced another cracker of a match.

It was a classic case of who could get in first as the pair delivered five 40+ breaks in six frames.

Desperques took the opener in a little over quarter of an hour with a 47, only for Shorto to match the effort in the next to level at 1-1.
