Perrio’s progress catches coach out

ALAN ROWE paid tribute to Louise Perrio’s tactical nous in retaining her Hampshire county cross-country title on Saturday.

‘She ran it with an excellent race head on,’ said Rowe, who acts as the Guernsey No.1’ s coach.

‘Louise did all the right things and realised that she was the strongest on the hills,’ he added.

The last climb of two testing hills on each circuit on the course was where, ultimately, Perrio won the race from former international runner Lucy Elliott of Winchester.
