Liberation Day is 201’s last goodbye

GUERNSEY’S Own 201 Squadron will be saying a final farewell to the island on Liberation Day.
Members of the squadron will be visiting Guernsey on Monday 9 May and will parade in front of islanders for the last time.
The Royal Air Force squadron will disband officially on 26 May following the UK Government’s decision to close its base at RAF Kinloss and to withdraw the Nimrod aircraft from operation.
Wing Commander Mike Blackburn, who is the officer commanding 201 Squadron, said it was important that they said goodbye to the island.
