THE second cycle of the Steele Properties Team squash league began with narrow 3-2 results across the board.
Specsavers lead the way by one point at the top, having got off to a flying start thanks to Andy Biggins and Matt Robilliard, who both showed a good mixture of short and deep shots in their 3-0 victories over Zak Parsons and Nigel Stewart respectively.
Amy Stenner put up a good fight against Katherine Jensen, but the latter managed to overpower her opponent and applied the right shot selection at the crucial time.
The upset of the night went to Harry Martel who captured his first scalp at No. 1 in the team league as he showed tremendous stamina and desire to triumph over the experienced Steve Falla. After a long encounter encompassing two tie-breaks, Martel’s resilience paid off as he won a tough decider 11-9.
