A NEW sports and community room will be built at Les Beaucamps High School site if Environment grants the go-ahead.

The Education Department has applied for planning permission to erect a sports and community facility between the games pitch and new sports building that will be developed once the current school has been demolished.

Project operations director Geraint ap Sion said the department had wanted to use a militia hut already on the site, but had found it was too fragile.

‘So we’ve put in an application for a small building next to the sports field, so it can be used for the activities there.’
