GUERNSEY cleared their biggest hurdle of the season so far with something to spare on Saturday.

Everything about the rugby fixture with third-placed Tottonians at Foote’s Lane had a ‘big game’ air about it – from the atmosphere among a large crowd together with the pleasant waft of the academy’s hog roast to the intensity of those on the pitch – and the league leaders certainly rose to the occasion.

‘It was a really good performance,’ said player-coach Jordan Reynolds.

‘The only thing that lets you down on a day like today in those muddy conditions is handling errors but, generally, I thought we achieved a lot.’
