Heather WatsonUKRAINE’S Lesya Tsurenko ended Heather Watson’s hopes of a good run at the Australian Open in the early hours of Saturday morning local time, but the Guernsey star is adamant she can get to the very top in world tennis.

Even No. 1.

Watson lost 7-5, 7-6 (7-0) in a tight battle which ended with a horror tie-break result for the Sarnian, ranked just a few places above her opponent in the world rankings.

The Guernseywoman, 18, was 4-1 down in the second set but managed to fight back to force a tie-break.

However, Watson then folded, failing to win a point, as her 21-year-old opponent advanced.
