Main man Merrien
Thursday 20th January 2011, 2:30PM GMT.
LEE MERRIEN was singled out as the outstanding sports performer of 2010 at Beau Sejour last night.
The marathon runner (pictured) metaphorically took home the prestigious Guernsey Sports Commission Trophy, although he was not around to receive the trophy from the Bailiff, Sir Geoffrey Rowland, instead being high in the hills of Kenya preparing for the season ahead.
Merrien enjoyed a stunning 12 months in both London and Barcelona, as did table tennis star Alice Loveridge who was another major winner.
She received the Guernsey Brewery Salver as the outstanding woman performer.
