STATES workers have accepted an inflation-busting two-year pay deal.
For this year workers will see their pay increase by 2.5%, which is higher than the current inflation rate of 1.6%, or an extra £10 per week, depending on which figure is higher.
Next year, employees will be guaranteed the higher rise of either RPI, 2.75% or an extra £10 per week.
Tool allowances for tradesmen were also increased by 50%, which in real terms could mean a rise from £3 to £6 a week or close to that mark. Other allowances will also rise by 2.5%.

These are people who do a proper job, so no nasty comments please. They don’t shuffle paper, they don’t rip people off and many won’t be able to afford to shop in Waitrose.

My bad, they deserve this pay rise.
