Police check out ‘several more’ child porn cases

SEVERAL child pornography cases similar to that of disgraced hotelier Chris Sharp are currently being investigated by Guernsey Police.
Detective Inspector Ashley Nicholas (pictured) would not say exactly how many were in progress, because they are at different stages, but confirmed the island’s dedicated Child Protection Unit and CID were working on ‘quite a few’ similar cases.
La Fregate Hotel director Sharp was jailed for four years on Thursday for making indecent images of children on his computer. The 44-year-old was found to have 502 still images and 35 videos.
His successor as manager of La Fregate Aileen Preston said yesterday: ‘We’re devastated. He was very much liked and respected.’

I was horrified to hear that the Police were working on ” quite a few ” similar cases.
All I can say is that they are sick and depraved, and the sooner they are brought to court and locked away the better.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we find some of them to be so called respectful pillars of society.

Sadly, I’m not surprised at all, Muzeek, here in the C.I’s, paedo’s generally go about their vile deeds, safe in the knowledge that the authorities will somehow manage to fail to prosecute them at all…..
I’M surprised that at last, one’s actually been taken to court, found guilty, and punished (though not sufficiently, IMO)

It must be difficult in this slippery world to catch and prosecute the affulent and mobile. We should be congratulating Guernsey Police and urging them to look closely at this guys supporters.
As for the comments from the Fregate…. Devastated about what exactly, the fact he was caught??

Scarlett you are absolutly correct and as Simon said we should be congratulating the police, im not always there biggest fan but if they only get 1 more sick ********* like this off our streets it will be a job well done.
