Wednesday 26th January 2011, 2:29PM GMT.

Deputy governor Rachael Green’s actions have been called into question during the hearing brought by former senior prison officer Mike Appelqvist for constructive dismissal.

He added that Mrs Green arrived to a difficult job, due to the service embarking on a major review, but the approach she adopted was exactly what was needed as she had a ‘fresh outlook’ compared with some staff who had been there many years.
