New T20 event to bring in £100k
Wednesday 26th January 2011, 2:30PM GMT.
MORE than £100k of sponsorship is set to flood into domestic cricket in the first three years of the exciting new Guernsey Premier League to be launched this summer.
While a proportion of that money will be needed to offset running costs, the acquisition of so much financial backing is a godsend to the cash-strapped Guernsey Cricket Board, as vice-chairman David Nussbaumer readily admitted.
‘Looking at the recent balance sheets and the number of people we employ, this is a real boost to us,’ said Nussbaumer, the driving force behind the GPL project which will have the title ‘Clydesdale Bank International Guernsey Premier League’.
‘It is an excess of £100k coming into cricket over three years,’ added Nussbaumer (pictured).
