A RETIRED manufacturer insists there is no reason why he should not be allowed to change the use of a building he owns on Pitronnerie Road Industrial Estate.

Gordon Miller has appealed against the Environment Department’s decision to refuse planning permission to change the use of Unit 1, Route de la Garenne, Pitronnerie Road Industrial Estate, from general industrial to storage and distribution.

He wants to be able to use the building for archive storage, but Environment says that would mean the unnecessary loss of industrial facilities.

The department claims archive storage could be accommodated outside key industrial areas.
