LEAGUE volleyball returned to Beau Sejour courts after the festive break and produced some enthralling matches, none more so than in the Men’s and Women’s Divisions.

The men’s registered players have spent the pre-Christmas part of the season at various midweek training sessions and also participating in the popular 20/20 tournament all headed up by senior players in an effort to raise the standards of the local game with a commitment to see Guernsey compete well and provide strong competition for this season’s inter-insular and the Island Games in the Isle of Wight.

Martin Baker, Ben Hill, Matthew Hann and Rod Elmy have brainstormed and selected squads that include youth and experience while maintaining continued development squad and team sponsorship from Nashcopy and Orchard PR.

Many youngsters and Development League players are coming to the fore, filling the shirts of retired experienced players and judging by the opening two league games we are in for an entertaining and enthralling campaign.
