Chief minister promises tax similarity between islands

FRICTION between the Crown Dependencies over their approaches to zero-10 was spelled out in the States yesterday, but there remains a commitment to all ending up with similar corporate tax regimes.
Chief Minister Lyndon Trott (picured) was asked by Deputy John Gollop to update how the islands were working together on the issue.
Deputy Trott said: ‘Early in the process, Guernsey resolved to take a pragmatic not provocative route and I firmly believe that strategy was correct.’
He said this has led to face-to-face meetings with European officials and a UK MP and officials to get a first hand understanding of the views of the Coalition government.
