Church Square fall man was Market jeweller

Steve HemeryA MAN who fell to his death in Church Square was yesterday identified as jeweller and silversmith Steve Hemery, a 41-year-old father.

Friends described him as likeable, quick-witted and fun to be around.

Guernsey Police yesterday confirmed Mr Hemery (pictured) as the man who fell from a roof above The Paper Box newsagents on Thursday evening around 10.10pm.

Officers have questioned three people in relation to the matter, but a spokesman for the force said that nobody was currently in custody in connection with the investigation.

He said enquiries were continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding his death but no other details were yet available.
