IF THE Snooker Legends on show at Beau Sejour on Saturday are past their best, then it is staggering to think of the abilities they once enjoyed.
Ten minutes into proceedings and John Parrott had already rattled in a century break against crowd favourite Jimmy White and it seemed like a short evening might be on the cards.
That it was White who went on to win the tournament by turning that game around and brushing aside Dennis Taylor in a one-frame final spoke volumes for the ‘Whirlwind’.
His break of 99 in that final shootout was flawless until he missed a seemingly inevitable green from the spot, with a 124 clearance on the cards.
