Drop-in start of population consultation

THE consultation on plans for population controls could be extended depending on the number and quality of responses, the Population Policy Group has said.
Chairman Bernard Flouquet said that in a few weeks’ time, the group would be reviewing the success of its request for views on issues such as employment and housing licences.
So far the group has received more than 80 full responses and more than 600 requests for the document.
But Deputy Flouquet said the consultation was still in its early stages.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Although I am sure that we all have an opinion on Guernsey’s population it is a brave person who tackles the policy document. Not only is it extremely lengthy but it is very hard for your average ‘joe in the street’ to understand. I struggled through it on line but even then did not have time to answer all the questions – I guess they don’t actually want the public to voice their opinion!
