A NEW code of practice for local Qrops providers demonstrates the island’s commitment to excellence in pensions, according to GuernseyFinance.

A committee of the Guernsey Association of Pension Providers has been working on a draft code to cover critical areas of qualifying recognised overseas pension schemes and an exposure draft of a new code of practice has now been released.

A consultation period for the code is now running until the end February for those interested in commenting on it, with Gapp intending to release the final Qrops code of practice by the end of March.

GuernseyFinance chief executive Peter Niven (pictured), who announced plans to introduce a code of conduct at a Guernsey Qrops seminar in London in March 2010, said it was pleasing that the code had come about in the way it had.
