Garland passed fit

Friday 11th February 2011, 2:30PM GMT.

Dale GarlandDALE GARLAND came through a final training session at Foote’s Lane last night and will be on the start line in Sheffield for this weekend’s national indoor championships.

But the 400m runner will find it tougher than ever to make it through to Sunday’s final, his minimum target.

Garland (pictured), who could come up against Tom Druce in the same event, said his chances of success and clocking the sort of time which will interest the GB selectors ahead of the European Indoor Championships in Paris, have been reduced by his niggling hamstring problems.

‘I’m in a bit of trouble because I haven’t been able to race and I haven’t got a [2011] time and therefore I won’t be seeded,’ he said yesterday.
