LIBRARY users got their hands on the latest technology yesterday.

The three book scanners were installed as part of the final stage of the Guille-Alles Library’s six-month entrance area redevelopment.

Chief librarian Maggie Falla said the machines had been installed without a hitch this week. Staff had been given 30 minutes’ training before starting to help the public on Thursday.

The scanners will replace the need to stamp books with the date they need to be returned. Instead, a piece of paper with the book name and the return date on it can be issued to the customer.
