DARING to spend the night on Flag Rock at Cobo earned the 2nd Guernsey Boys’ Brigade first place in an Abandoned event.
Guernsey companies, organisations, families and groups of friends were challenged to spend a night under the stars to raise funds for Hope for a Child.
The Boys’ Brigade’s choice to kayak out to Flag Rock and spend the night clinging on among ‘dead fish and seagull muck’ won them the award for the most extreme sleeping place. Each team had to submit photos to Hope for a Child to be judged.
Lieutenant Malcolm Cleal admitted he was surprised but pleased upon hearing of the 2nd Guernsey’s victory.

Congrats to everyone in Guernsey’s 2nd BB. I was a member of the 2nd over sixty years ago
(Spurgeon Baptist, Rev Clifford Bozeat ) and was glad to be a part of the group. Regrettably we never got out to Flag Rock amongst the dead fish and birds doo doo that I remember, but as a drummer in the band I do have some very happy memories. Best wishes and continued success to all of you.
