Hotel bookings up as ‘quality sells’

GUERNSEY is now well-placed to reap the rewards from investment in the tourism industry, according to one hotelier.
Cobo Bay Hotel managing director David Nussbaumer (pictured) was commenting on last year’s occupancy figures, which show little fluctuation on the previous year’s.
The statistics show a steady rise between the winter and summer months, with August 2010 demonstrating the highest occupancy rate.
It reached a total of 90% for hotels, guest and self-catering accommodation, compared to 85% the year before.
