Bodman on the up
Wednesday 16th February 2011, 2:30PM GMT.
ERICA BODMAN shrugged off some unexpected obstacles to show her undoubted rowing potential at Dorney Lake in Windsor.
The 23-year-old (pictured) is in her first year in the senior ranks of GB Rowing, where she is looking to impress and challenge for an Olympic spot either next year or in 2016.
An 18th overall position out of 77 rowers in the women’s single skulls event at the February Winter Trials, highlighted the progress the Sarnian is making.
Originally, the 1,900m heats and 2,000m semi-final had been scheduled for Saturday, with the 2,000m final on Sunday, but the weather conditions meant that every stage was held within the opening day, something that Bodman admits she is not used to.
