Specsavers is growing strongly down under
Wednesday 16th February 2011, 2:31PM GMT.
SPECSAVERS co-founder Doug Perkins expects to spend another two years down under expanding the optical giant’s global business.
The company has just opened its 300th Antipodean store in Dubbo, Australia, closely followed by a new store in Hamilton, New Zealand.
That means the brand now has more international stores than it has in the UK and Ireland.
Mr Perkins (pictured), who has taken up semi-permanent residence in Australia to spearhead the expansion programme, returned to the island for a visit last week to attend the company’s biennial staff ball.
