Condor faces sanctions if its problems are repeated
Thursday 17th February 2011, 1:00PM GMT.
CONDOR Ferries could face harsh sanctions for future poor performance as part of a tough new approach to monitoring the service, Jersey’s Economic Development minister Alan Maclean has said.
The senator issued the warning after a consumer survey carried out in Jersey and Guernsey last year revealed islanders’ concerns over the Channel Islands’ ferry service.
Of the Jersey-based survey respondents, 77% said the level of service Condor provided did not justify the fares charged. But two-thirds of Guernsey respondents were happy with what they got for their money.
Simon Edsall, managing director of Condor Ferries, said: ‘We are heartened by the constructive responses to the consultation and agree with the minister that there are no grounds for further intervention or legislation.’

What would happen if they just said “cba”, and we had no ferry service?

Have any of the complainers compared the Condor fares with those charged for Irish Sea crossings by either Irish Ferries or Stena Line?
The trip from Guernsey to England is cheaper than Dublin to Holyhead, despite being being twice the distance

I only use Condor to travel to St Malo and I am not complaining about their fares on that leg of their trips but its the awful times that infuriate me -nearly always arriving early evening and now this year back mostly mid morning -basically 2 wasted days. Jersey get the best of all the times and still they moan !
