Alderney postman dies after cliff rescue ordeal

A MAN who died following a treacherous cliff-top rescue in Alderney on Friday has been named as Jamie Spandler.
Mr Spandler, 44, was a postman in the island and was well known.
He had been rescued from the bottom of the cliffs at Blue Bay on Friday night but later died in hospital.
Police have described the rescue mission as lengthy and hazardous.
