Energy project ‘will have an impact on global warming’

Ken DrysdaleSUBSTANTIAL funding from Guernsey investors has helped to place an energy company on the verge of a global breakthrough, according to its chief executive.

The Theodoma power generation project has attracted £8m. from Guernsey investors. It has been attempting to turn latent energy into useful power since the mid-1990s.

Ken Drysdale (pictured) said that following tests carried out at the end of last year the company had succeeded in achieving its goal and was on the verge of commercialising its two products.

‘The global impact of the high co-efficient performance heat pump and the special carbon dioxide-based turbo generator, which combine to turn ground heat into electricity, could be huge.’
