COST-CUTTING at Guernsey Post has seen 12 administration staff lose their jobs, the chief executive revealed yesterday.
Speaking at a Chamber of Commerce lunch, Boley Smillie focused on the challenges facing the company at a time when traditional mail was declining.
In an effort to save £3m., the utility has been reviewing all its operations. Administration roles have been cut by 20% through redundancy and natural wastage.
Mr Smillie (pictured) said it was also looking to save money on the operational side and expected to cut another 12 jobs.

This article should be headed:
Dozen admin jobs have gone at XXX States department. This is where XXX is one of any States departments. This way they wouldn’t have to keep dreaming up ways of increasing the money that they take off the public!
If the post office can do it (well done by the way) then the States can as well
