Island women’s coach has sympathy for men’s plight

GUERNSEY’S women basketball team will not be going the same way as their male counterparts by pulling out of their UK league.
It was announced last week that Jeff Stuart’s island men’s side had withdrawn from the British League due to financial difficulties.
With all trips away being self-funded, the men’s team have decided now to switch their attentions to this summer’s Island Games campaign in the Isle of Wight.
GBA president and coach of the Sarnian women’s team is Pat Ogier, who explained the different circumstances that will ensure his side do not face the same problem.
