Only time will tell if clocks are to change

Thursday 24th February 2011, 2:29PM GMT.

Ray Watts with his cows TIME will tell if Guernsey follows the UK’s investigations into moving the clocks forward one hour.

Discussions are taking place in the UK to see whether it should be aligned with Central European Time.

The proposals are expected to be published by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport in the coming week.

Meadow Court Farm owner Ray Watts (pictured) said that while he was fairly open minded, a change could cause problems for his industry.

Most farmers I know work when they need to work, not by what the clock says so don’t see why these proposals would have much impact on that industry.

Everyone else, well, we only work 9-5 (and the rest) because that’s what we’re told to do. Could quite easily be 8-4 or 10-6 or whatever it needed to be to keep our working hours in sync with the target market.

Might mean missing Neighbours though… ;-)

Pointless debate. It ain’t gonna happen here unless it happens in the UK and if does happen in the UK it would be madness for us not to follow suit.

Good post Martino – succinct and absolutely spot on. Nothing more to be said.
