Detailed plans and tenants is next step

LEALE’S YARD could be built and ready for retailers in three years’ time, the Co-op’s chief executive has revealed.
Outline planning permission for the multi-million-pound project, which will include shops, parking and homes, was granted this week.
Colin Macleod (pictured) said the Co-op and the developer, Leale’s Yard Ltd, will now have to work out detailed plans for the site and find potential tenants.
He hoped plans could now move ahead more quickly but said the Environment Department would want to hold another public inquiry on the detailed proposals.
