THE closer Guernsey get to the end of their league season, the bigger the games become.

Tomorrow, the table-topping Greens go to Old Reigatian, who were within a kick of beating them at Foote’s Lane early in the campaign. Next week, it is another tough away test at London Cornish and, in a fortnight’s time, the crunch clash with title rivals Guildford who, having lost last weekend, are now four points adrift of the Sarnians.

‘At the business end of the season these are the games we just have to win,’ said Jordan Reynolds, who will play through the pain barrier in the remaining games in a bid to win the title and, with it, desperately-sought promotion.

‘Nick [Barton], Blair [Campbell] and myself play injured most weeks. We learn to live with it. It is just one of those things you have to do,’ the player-coach said yesterday.
