IT WAS far from vintage, but Fiat kept up their title pursuit by comfortably seeing out their sister basketball team Abarth at Beau Sejour on Friday.
The final scoreline was perhaps flattering on both sides, as a large chunk of those points were scored in a far more open final quarter, which had begun only 48-27 in Fiat’s favour.
Indeed, both sides had only scored one basket apiece after nearly three minutes of play, Neil Davey’s three-pointer giving Fiat the early advantage.
Abarth can count themselves unlucky on occasions as shots frustratingly bounced out on multiple occasions, although the Fiat defence deserve credit for their efforts, especially in the way they nullified Shek Sesay for large periods of play.
