Callum McNeil
AO HALL senior associate Callum McNeil has been admitted as a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
Mr McNeil, who is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, the High Court of Australia and an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands, had previously worked in Guernsey but returned to the island last year to take up a role within AO Hall’s dispute resolution team.
‘This is a preliminary step to becoming admitted as an advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey and I am now looking forward to the challenge of attending university in Caen and sitting the Guernsey Bar examinations so that I can qualify as a Guernsey Advocate,’ he said.
Mr McNeil, who specialises in commercial litigation, and in particular, investment fund disputes and insolvency, was admitted as an English solicitor after having complied with the training regulations, passing the Qualified Lawyer’s Transfer Test and after having practised the law of England and Wales for a minimum of one year.
‘In addition to satisfying a prerequisite for admission as a Guernsey Advocate, Callum’s admission as an English solicitor will give AO Hall’s clients confidence in the quality and depth of his experience and expertise. Having practised in four common law jurisdictions, including international finance centres Guernsey and the Cayman Islands, his knowledge is invaluable,’ said AO Hall partner Jon Barclay.
