Guernsey 2, Jersey 1
SEVEN years of pain ended on Saturday as Guernsey secured their first Star Trophy success since 2004 after seeing off Jersey at Northfield.

It will not go down as the greatest inter-insular ever, but that will matter little to the under-15 Sarnians who were not even born the last time there was a greens success on home soil back in 1995.

The excellent Callum Chapman-Page and an unfortunate Jersey own goal gave the home side the honours in a game they never trailed and, in all fairness, did enough to justify the narrow success.

Coach Sam Stables opted for an unfamiliar formation with only three at the back and that was nearly exploited in the opening 90 seconds of play.
