GREMLIN Galacticos have regained the initiative for the Image Group Premier Division title after a dramatic turnaround saw them beat their challengers La Villette Hotel Gremlins 8-4.
In a match full of intrigue and sub plots, the Galacticos somehow managed to retrieve a morale-boosting win from an early three-frame deficit, which included a rare Adam Shorto defeat.
A bright opening to Shorto’s match with John Skillett gave way to both having chances at the end of the first frame, but Shorto’s unfortunate in-off from potting the final red offered his opponent a routine clearance.
Matters got worse for the Galacticos captain when Skillett froze him out completely in the next, with a 41 break doing the damage.
