CHAMPIONS Panthers produced a strong last quarter to break the resistance of a rejuvenated Abarth side on Friday at Beau Sejour.

The Abarth blues were under the leadership of new coach Joel de Woolfson for the first time and were level pegging with their opponents going into the final period.

However, without influential players Jeff Stuart and Paul Wilkes, Abarth had a short bench and Panthers made the most of their opportunity when fatigue finally set in.

‘The final score doesn’t do justice to how close it was,’ de Woolfson said.
