Awards-triple marks an upturn in fortunes for OGH

THE Old Government House Hotel and Spa made history at the 2010 Guernsey Awards for Achievement by becoming the first business to win three awards.
Its success in the Institute of Directors, NP Group and GTA University Centre’s excellence in training award and the Healthspan best large business category was topped off when it was named the Commerce and Employment Department Guernsey business of the year.
According to general manager Andrew Chantrell, it represented quite a turnaround in fortunes for the hotel.
‘I think everyone is aware that over the years the hotel has had its highs and lows, but its purchase by Red Carnation in 2008 has given everyone a renewed vigour.
